Press Release: Nike Redefines ‘Just Do It’ With New Campaign

New “Possibilities” campaign takes ‘Just Do It’ from inspiration to action, enabling viewers to participate in challenges through the Nike+ digital ecosystem

Nike’s new campaign, “Possibilities” inspires viewers to push their limits and strive to reach new goals through a series of playful scenarios featuring an all-star cast of athletes and guest stars. Digital and social media activations help viewers to #justdoit themselves through a series of Nike+ challenges. The film begins with the line, “If you can run a mile, run a race, run a marathon, outrun a movie star.” A series of different challenges and scenarios emerge, each challenging characters in the film - and the audience - to push themselves to new limits.

The film features basketball star and reigning NBA MVP, LeBron James; world number one tennis icon Serena Williams; Gerard Pique of FC Barcelona and Spain; and boxing sensation Andre Ward. Actor Bradley Cooper narrates the film, which was directed by the acclaimed Nicolai Fuglsig, and features a guest appearance by actor Chris Pine.

As part of the twenty-fifth anniversary of ‘Just Do It’, the inspirational message doesn’t end when the film is complete. “Possibilities” seeks to inspire everyone in their personal achievements through Nike+. The film is a challenge to the audience, who can physically take part in the film’s concept through a series of Nike+ challenges.

"For 25 years, we’ve been inspiring people to Just Do It,” comments Davide Grasso, Nike Global Chief Marketing Officer. “With ‘Possibilities’ we’re taking 'Just Do It' to a whole new place, showing people a new way to set goals and think about their own athletic potential, then helping them to achieve those goals through products, services and inspiration.”

Viewers can explore their own “Possibilities” through several activations, including Nike+ Running and NikeFuel challenges.

The Challenges feature on the Nike+ Running app enables runners to set a distance goal, invite Nike+ friends to join and race to the virtual finish line. Users can determine the Challenge’s name, mileage goal, time period and participants, and a new chat feature allows friends to encourage each other and share tips throughout the Challenge. Runners can stay motivated by checking the live leaderboard to track progress and see where they rank amongst their friends.

From August 20-September 13, runners using the Nike+ Running app can log their Nike+ miles towards winning a once-in-lifetime running experience, as part of Nike’s crowd-sourced Free Run concept.

The Nike+ digital ecosystem has more than 18 million global members, and anyone who engages in these Challenges will be encouraged to share their activity through the hashtag #justdoit to ultimately help drive participants to realize new possibilities.

Press Release: Saucony Malaysia Launches Award-winning KINVARA 4

L to R: Tan Zijill, Jason Tan and Frank Chong doing the running pose exclusively for our blog.

Kuala Lumpur, 28 August 2013 – In conjunction with the largest launch effort by Saucony in the United States, RSH (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has officially launched the Kinvara 4, the brand’ s 4th generation natural motion running shoes in Malaysia.

Saucony was originally founded in 1898 at Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania and is today’s leading global running lifestyle brand infused with performance, innovation and style that appeal to runners worldwide. Some interesting insights, the name Saucony translated means “mouth of a creek or river” and it was in year 1906 when the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company first built its factory, a solid two-story construction along the Saucony Creek.

The logo resembles the endless flow of that waterway along with its rocky creek bed which was depicted by the three distinct dots within the “wave” in the logo which represents the “river” mark.

As the host of the launch, Mr Manish Sapra, General Manager of RSH (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd unveiled the latest line of Saucony – The Kinvara 4, together with three of Saucony Malaysia’s very own Ambassadors, Frank Chong, Jason Tan, and Tan Zijill.

The Kinvara 4 is an upgraded version from its predecessors, which is infused with the latest FlexFilm™ technology by welding a lightweight and highly dynamic flexible film onto the breathable mesh upper that enhances air ventilation while maintaining the structure. Interestingly, there is more FlexFilm™ added to the midfoot and heel area, to give a better framework that secures the foot through all phases of the gait cycle.

The Kinvara 4 also has improved midsole cushioning technology from ProGrid™ to PowerGrid™, a premium engineered foam that is 15% lighter and 30% more durable than standard EVA foams. The PowerGrid system is located in the heel landing zone to absorb impact and transmit energy back into the runner’s stride with maximum efficiency and minimal impact. Other features of the shoes include XT-900™ premium carbon triangular rubber pods that are strategically placed on the shoe’s outsole for enhanced durability and exceptional traction. Memory Foam heel pods along the collar add to the ultra-secure ride and a bevelled heel help runners to facilitate a natural rolling movement from heel to toe.

Frank Chong Wei Siong (fondly known as Frank), is Saucony Malaysia’s very first ambassador, who is also a cancer survivor who contracted with a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma that affects the connective tissues and muscles on his left wrist.

There is an array of colourful Saucony Kinvara 4 collection of footwear and apparel for men and women.

The Kinvara 4 is available for both men and women. The collection retails at RM399 per pair and will be available in September 2013 at Running Lab, Stadium, Studio R and selected Royal Sporting House stores nationwide.
